Arts Etobicoke: Music and Dance Celebration

North Etobicoke: After School Kids Art Classes

@artsetobicoke’s After School Art Classes are coming to North Etobicoke! Experiment with different mediums, learn new skills and techniques, and express your creativity! Every week, students will create different art projects led by our talented art instructors. These classes are free and will be offered in-person. There are up to 20 spaces available for each age group; 6-9 and 10-14 years old. For more information and to register, please click the links below. Priority registration will be given to North Etobicoke residents and will be on a first come first served basis. We have a waitlist for this program, so we encourage regular attendance throughout the summer/fall session. Please contact Arts Etobicoke staff if your child or attendee is unable to attend a class.

Classes will be held outdoors at the newly installed ThistlePOPS in @albionislingtonsquare, and will move indoors to the Thistletown Community Centre in October. Please note, while classes are held outdoors, they will only be postponed for severe weather.

On August 11 from 4-8pm, Muslims in Public Space is hosting a sidewalk chalk activation on site. Join our workshop on Islamic geometric shapes and learn about Islamic gardens and the plants within them by Global Sustainable Foods.

Mind in Motion Exhibit

Wexford Blooms Hub, at Wexford Plaza, 2072 Lawrence Ave E

On August 11, For You Telecare Family Services took over Wexford Blooms as part of their “Expressive Art Workshop”!

The workshop series, held every Friday night throughout the summer, offer participating youth a unique platform to express their emotions, feelings and experiences through various forms of arts.

It was so great to host them in Wexford Blooms! Check out how they brought their own tarp to create shade on our scaffolding, as our custom shade fabric is not ready yet!

Suyeon Jin, the director of FUTFS, was part of our working group, and with her team of Mind in Motion youth, have contributed so much to plazaPOPS, including volunteering for our movie night and Summer Blooms Fest – thank you!
